Painted Storks

Painted Storks are striking, large wading birds frequently seen in Kutch’s wetlands, salt pans, and reservoirs. Recognizable by their pink tertial feathers and long yellow bills, they feed on fish in shallow waters. Their presence signals healthy wetland ecosystems, making conservation of Kutch’s diverse freshwater habitats essential for sustaining their populations.
