Islands created out of Sardar Sarovar reservoir

Islands formed by the reservoir of the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada River have left some villages isolated. Due to incomplete rehabilitation, families continue living on these scattered hilltops turned islands, cut off by water. Their persistence reflects both resilience and the unresolved human consequences of large dam displacement.
