Barking deer

The barking deer, or muntjac, is a small, elusive ungulate in Jim Corbett National Park. Named for its distinctive alarm call, it inhabits dense forests and grasslands, feeding on leaves, fruits, and shoots. Its alertness and agility help it evade predators, contributing to the park’s rich biodiversity.
